Whenever I get a request for a family session in Joshua Tree Forest, my heart skips a beat a little. This is one of my favorite locations due to its unique landscape. Despite being in the desert, it also gets really beautiful seasonal color changes. Golden tones in the fall. Then, amazing desert blooms in the spring.
This family is no stranger to my camera. I met them for the first time a few years back for an Extended Family Session at the Desert National Wildlife Refuge. They are the sweetest family and incredibly easy to work with. Mom’s natural design eye is always a plus for styling their session. I could not have suggested anything better than what they came dressed in. The mix of solids, patterns and textures was simply perfection. The color scheme complicated the muted desert tones of the season. They session came together on point.
Doing a family session in Joshua Tree Forest always leads to unexpected weather surprises. We had an interesting mix of clouds and sun the day of their session. Thankfully the sun peeked through the Joshua Trees at just the right moments and we captured the most amazing golden backlight. Their gallery ended up being huge. So, it was really hard to narrow down some favorites to share. I hope you enjoy.
