As a Las Vegas Maternity Photographer, I am so excited to share this very special maternity session. This couple has gone through a very dark time in their lives to celebrate this occasion. I am incredibly honored to be able to document this special part of their lives. This beautiful new mama shared with me that she is breast cancer survivor and had a double mastectomy. So this pregnant is truly a gift from God.
I worked with this new mom extensively on styling her wardrobe. She had decided early on that she wanted to wear one of the gowns I, personally, made for part of her session. I have a number of dresses on hand from my Client Closet for clients to wear. She also expressed that she wanted some tasteful images of her belly and the tattoo she had done over her left breast after her mastectomy. I wasn’t sure until the day of her session how that was going to look. However, on the day of her Maternity Portraits, I was wearing a chunky, mauve sweater and it dawned on me that I would throw it on her last minute and we would be able to capture exactly what she might have envisioned.
I could not have asked for a more beautiful session. The weather was still chilly and as the sun went down, she braved being half naked in the middle of the cold desert for these gorgeous maternity portraits! To top it off, she is the first client to wear my custom made gown and it looked absolutely amazing on her! I also was obsessed with the green dress and wardrobe pieces she picked for her husband. The color palette was so complimentary to this season. She followed my suggestions perfectly!
